Look no further than what happened to Kirkland Lake Gold (KGI.to) this morning when it decided to pay less than a tenth of a KGI share for each share of its neighbour, St Andrews Goldfields (SAS.v):
And this is KGI, one of those rare companies in the Canada market that's had a successful and positive 2015 to date. Perhaps the CEO thought his track record would have bought him some love on this deal, right?
So just imagine what would happen to one of the hundreds of mediocre companies run by mediocrities dressed up as clever managers? So, no deals in the world because pathetic-level CEOS tend to be greedy, not suicidal.
