Ruben Costas calls Evo "a monkey"

Unfortunately I'm not making this one up either, as that's the level of discourse this racist pig has left in him. As Reported here (and plenty of other places), Santa Cruz Prefect Costas used his post election press conference to call Morales a dictator and a 'Macaco', which is one of these in the Spanish language:

Also, in the finest example of pot-calls-kettle-black so far this year, Costas also said that the new laws proposed by Morales were racist.

Just think for a second what kind of reaction you'd get if John McCain called Barack Obama a monkey in one of his keynote speeches. This is what the Prefect of Santa Cruz thinks he can get away with when talking with his followers in East Racist Bolivia.

AND THE ENGLISH MEDIA WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT HIM AND HIS IDEA OF DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM. IT MAKES ME VOMIT, PERSONALLY.

The 'hunger strike' obviously had little effect, as
Ruben Costas is still a lardarse.

Meanwhile Latin America's leading mediocre journalist, Simon Romero of the New York Times, filed this report from Cochabamba tonight. As well as not realizing that when Costas said "out with foreign monkeys" he was referring to Evo Morales more than Hugo Chávez (as Costas considers his President a foreigner in his own country), Romero writes this....

"Perhaps the most contentious issue has been Mr. Morales’s land reform project in Santa Cruz, the economically vibrant eastern department. Rich landowning families in the area have clashed with government officials seeking to distribute their landholdings to Aymara and Quechua Indian migrants."

....and displays his stunning lack of regional understanding once and for all. Would he also call the First Nation peoples of Canada "migrants" compared to the Anglosaxon/French peoples of Canada? As William Hazlitt once said, "Prejudice is the child of ignorance." Romero would do well to remember that one.
